Haight Street Fair: San Francisco, CA

The smell of BBQ and lemonade in the air; the music playing and people partying from their apartment windows; and the 75 (with no wind) degree weather in San Francisco was what was going down in the City this past Sunday.

Yesterday was the true start of Summer, and what a way to kick it off with the Haight Street Fair. I mean, it was just the kind of weather you have when you're in San Jose: nice. Probably the best thing they had at the fair was just a group of people playing on drums and bongos. The rhythm and beats these people were making were unplanned, but meshed so well. All it took was one person on the drums and one on the bongos. Sooner or later there were 2 drummers, 2 bongo players and a woman hitting cow bells. People were stuck in a trance and really appreciated their music. People from all parts of the city were enjoying this music, even dancing in the street. I don't even think these people new each other, but oh how wonderful music brings people together.

But the food was was "on-point," especially the free food! I tasted chocolate mint WATER!?!? And i didn't hate it. It was a little awkward at first, but it was pretty good. It was so good they ran out 2 hours before the fair ended. The next free drink I had was something similar to an Arizona Ice Tea. I do not remember the name of it, but it was very tasty. I would actually buy this, but only if I could remember its name. And third of course, Otter-Pops. On a hot day, Otter-Pops had "win" all over it.

Oh Haight Street, how i will miss you when I move back to San Jose. I was terrified of you as a Freshman in college, but now I am leaving you with a place in my heart <3... From the awesome boutiques such as True and Stussy; to the great food and Milk Bar (Allen's 21st birthday) ; to where I bought my first ever "camo" jacket, I will try not to be a stranger.
